Mr. Walla has a wide ranging civil litigation background, including six years of litigation experience in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. He has practiced in the fields of insurance defense, products liability, premises liability, construction law, personal injury law, professional liability law and insurance coverage litigation. He has first and second chair jury trials in State District Court, County Court and United States Federal Court, including wrongful death, Title VII, employment and discrimination, medical malpractice and products liability lawsuits. Mr. Walla has also tried hundreds of bench trials, prosecuted numerous state court appeals, and has successfully prosecuted, argued and won an insurance coverage litigation appeal before the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Walla joined Phillips & Akers in March of 2000 and is presently a member of the Firm’s Board of Directors. His practice is now concentrated primarily in the areas of insurance defense, coverage litigation, construction law and professional liability defense.
